After the starting signal of the FZI Alumni Network in the FZI Friends’ Association, which was given in February with the new member of the board of the FZI Friends’ Association, Dr. Andreas Abecker, the first event of the alumni network under the title “The Agents are Coming” will now follow.

The use of AI in the form of so-called agents is rapidly becoming one of the defining topics in the current technology debate. Whether in software development, customer service, or internal automation – AI agents promise new possibilities for handling complex tasks autonomously and flexibly. In his lecture “The Agents are Coming,” Dr. Valentin Zacharias first briefly introduces the topic, shows tangible examples of applications, and then highlights the technological basics, from Large Language Model Reasoning to the targeted use of external tools. A concluding outlook shows where the journey is headed and what companies should do now to position themselves strategically.

Dr. Valentin Zacharias worked at the FZI for over ten years, most recently as head of the IPE (Information Process Engineering) research division, and now works as an AI technology strategist at Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation.
