New Board Member of the FZI Friends' Association
Dr. Andreas Abecker was unanimously appointed to the FZI Friends’ Association Board of Directors at the general meeting in the fall of 2024. Since then, the graduated computer scientist has been committed to the association jointly with Oliver Winzenried and Dr. habil. Christian Förster and Dr. Klaus Wiegand. His goal is to integrate alumnae and alumni more closely into the association to strengthen the network and establish lasting contacts with alumni companies and organizations.
And who could be better suited than someone who was part of the FZI team for a long time? Dr. Andreas Abecker headed the Knowledge Management Department in the FZI’s research division Information Process Engineering (IPE) from 2003 to 2011. Since then, he has been contributing his research and work topics, such as data management and analysis in environmental informatics and related application fields, to the FZI spin-off disy. As head of innovation management at our long-standing member of the FZI Friends`Association, he has remained in contact with the FZI through numerous funded joint research projects on technologies such as Business & Location Intelligence, Big Geo Data or Explainable AI.
