FameLab - Talking Science
Leave the lab and get on stage!
FameLab is an international science communication competition that has also been held in Germany every year since 2011. In over 20 countries, FameLab puts scientists on stage – and the motto is: “Talking Science”. Karlsruhe is the venue for the southwest German preliminary round. The event is organized by the Karlsruhe Science Office.
The participants have only three minutes to explain complex research content to their lay audience. They have to do this without the usual aids such as charts or PowerPoint presentations. Props supporting the scientific stage performance are allowed: anything worn on the body may be used. There are virtually no limits to creativity. To convince the jury, the presentation must be objectively correct, easy to understand, and, above all, contain the right mixture of science and humor! p>
Students or researchers from natural or social sciences, technology, or medicine can participate. Whether astronomy, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, information technology, mathematics, pharmacy, physics, or robotics, the disciplines are manifold! Applicants must only be 21 years old.
