ERF 2025: European Robotics Forum 2025
“Boosting the Synergies between Robotics and AI for a stronger Europe”
Over 1,300 participants from European research, industry and politics, more than 60 sponsors and an extensive program on robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI): From 25 to 27 March 2025, the top-class European Robotics Forum (ERF) of euRobotics, the European Robotics Association, will take place in Stuttgart’s Liederhalle. As a sponsor of the event, the FZI Research Center for Information Technology is participating in the first German version of the conference with a stand and a workshop.
The ERF is coming to Germany for the first time – after 15 years of the Forum’s history, the European robotics community is meeting for its flagship event in Stuttgart’s Liederhalle. The forum is the most important European event for robotics and AI, and this year’s motto is “Boosting the Synergies between Robotics and AI for a stronger Europe.” The aim is to bring together research and industry, present the current state of robotics and AI on a large stage, and help shape future technological developments.
The FZI Research Center for Information Technology is participating in the ERF fair with a stand and in the ERF program with a workshop. The FZI is also a bronze sponsor and exhibitor for the event.

What to expect at the FZI stand (stand 64) in Liederhalle:
-
Mobile robotics
We show how mobile walking robots can be deployed for autonomous inspection. -
Resilient production using no-code programming
We use the flexible disassembly of old electrical appliances to show how large language models can be used for no-code programming. In the interactive demonstration, users can intuitively program the robot arm themselves. - A focal point for the support of research and development of service and assistance robotics as well as the relevant exchange of information
Workshop as part of the BMBF project “Transfer Center for Robots in Everyday Life (RimA)”: (Sustainable) Robots in Public Environments: Advancements and Challenges
In this interactive workshop, we want to address questions about the development of service robots for everyday use.
Service robotics is at a stage where widespread use in our daily lives is becoming very likely. However, the question of exactly how the robotization of public spaces will look is still entirely open, as it depends on a complex interaction of different technologies, economic and social factors, and, of course, the interest and financing of researchers. In this workshop, we invite you to join us in sharing your thoughts and sketching out a timeline for the development of robots in public spaces.
- What could or should an everyday service robot look like in one, five or ten years?
- Which applications do we want or need to implement?
- What are the most important (technical) challenges that need to be overcome in the field of everyday robotics?
We invite you to share your views with us and draft a schedule for the development of robots in public spaces.
