Thomas Mayer studied Computer Science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he specialized in Software Engineering with a focus on model-driven software development, as well as computer graphics. He also gained knowledge in the field of telematics. In his Master's thesis, titled "Model Driven Software Development for Process Oriented Systems", which he wrote at the FZI, he developed an approach for the semi-automatic derivation of source code for service tasks from process models.
Since 2024, he has been employed as a research associate at the FZI. His work focuses on projects related to tram logistics using combined transport, as well as the determination of fine dust exposure for pedestrians and cyclists in urban areas.
