Marc Schroth studied electrical engineering and information technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), focusing on the field of systems engineering. He wrote his master's thesis titled "Conception and development of a wristband for measuring the pulse wave using impedance plethysmography" at the FZI within the department of Embedded Systems and Sensors Engineering (ESS). Since August 2017 he has been working as a research assistant in the ESS research department, since January 2023 as Vice Department Manager of the Medical Information Technology department.
His research interests are distributed, interconnected and self-learning systems and intelligent ambient or wearable sensor technology. Marc Schroth currently heads the feir, BeACTIVE and PfleDaKi projects at the FZI and also conducts research in the Smartpatch project. Previously, he was involved in the ITERATION, IDial, ArNe, SleepCoach, AuRorA, SINQ, Robina and SEC-Bike projects.
