Justus Knierim studied industrial engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), with a focus on machine learning, data science, statistics and operations research. He wrote his master’s thesis about optimizing trajectories in robot-based unscrewing using reinforcement learning.

Since April 2023, he worked in the Department of Information Process Engineering (IPE) at the FZI. In his research, he is interested in simulation, optimization and machine learning, focusing on production and logistics processes.
