Information Process Engineering

Jasmin Montalbano completed her master's degree in mathematics with a focus on operations research and mathematical optimization at the Technical University of Munich. From 2019 to 2022, she worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) in the (electrical) grid planning team in the “Smart Grids” department. There she also wrote her master's thesis on “Optimal Network Expansion Planning using Mixed-Integer Semidefinite Programming”. At the Fraunhofer ISE she mainly worked on research projects (including “AI4Grids”) on the topics of “Automation and optimization of future power grid expansion and operational management in low-voltage grids”.

Since October 2024, she has been a research assistant in the Information Process Engineering (IPE) department at the FZI. Her research interests lie in mathematical modelling and the transfer of real-world problems, as well as in the application of mathematical programming to solve optimization problems.
