David Timmermann studied computer science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2011 to 2016. His studies focused on robotics and automation as well as telematics.

He completed his master's thesis entitled "Development of a force-based manipulation strategy and gripper design for attaching a door seal" at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology in the "Interactive Diagnostics and Service Systems" (IDS) department.

Since December 2016, he has been a research scientist in the Interactive Diagnostics and Service Systems (IDS) group at the FZI.
