Carolin Stein is department manager in the division Information Process Engineering (IPE), where she and her team are responsible for projects in the field of Information Management & Analytics. With the House of Participation (HoP), the department forms a competence center for digital democracy and participation.

Carolin studied Economics Engineering (B.Sc.) and Information Systems Management (M.Sc.) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Technical University of Berlin (TuB). In 2022 she started her doctorate at KIT under Prof. Christof Weinhardt in the team of Dr. Jonas Fegert on digital participation processes and platforms. At the FZI she has been working as a research scientist since 2021 and is involved in the department management since 2023.
