Sustainable Engineering and Energy

Forum Sustainable Engineering and Energy – 27. Februar 2025

Topic: Technological innovations and regulatory drivers for a sustainable future

On the topic of the forum: Sustainable engineering involves developing, operating, and optimizing technical systems that are ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable. The forum “Sustainable Engineering: Technological Innovations and Regulatory Drivers for a Sustainable Future” showed how regulatory requirements such as ESG, EU taxonomy, and CSRD drive sustainable engineering. Examples from the mobility and energy sectors illustrate how technical innovations and legal frameworks work together to promote ecological, social, and economic sustainability.

Workshop Sustainable Engineering and Energy – February, 27, 2025

Topic: Integration of IoT devices with low-code software

On the topic of the workshop: The FZI gave an insight into how IoT devices can be connected efficiently and easily using the open source software Node-RED. Node-RED is a so-called “low-code development environment, ” meaning the software allows programs to be created using an intuitively understandable graphical modular system. The workshop first taught the basics of using Node-RED and then went into more detail using a practical example for smart IoT solutions. The integration of databases and visualization tools was also discussed. The workshop invited participants to join in and try things out.
