FZI Open House 2025

On February 27, 2025, we opened the doors to the world of tomorrow’s information and communication technology for you at the FZI Open House.  

It was an opportunity to experience the transfer of technology and knowledge for a changing economy in Karlsruhe. The FZI Open House 2025 provided the ideal platform for discussing ideas, making contacts, and exchanging views with experts on innovative solutions.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, guests, and the entire FZI team who contributed to this day!

Opening & Keynotes on February, 27, 2025

After an opening by FZI Executive Director Jan Wiesenberger and a welcome address on the topic “40 years of FZI” by Gabriele Luczak-Schwarz, First Mayor of the City of Karlsruhe, we look forward to the keynotes by Prof. Thomas Kropf and by Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg.

After the opening by FZI Executive Director Jan Wiesenberger shortly after 9 a.m., the First Deputy Mayoress of the City of Karlsruhe, Gabriele Luczak-Schwarz, honored the FZI as a “Place of Opportunities” in her welcoming address.
Afterwards, the keynote speeches were held by Prof. Thomas Kropf and the Minister of Economic Affairs of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut.

The keynote highlights how the German economy is built on the successes of the start-up era and why a new start-up era is necessary. The focus will be on technologies such as AI, renewable energies, and robotics, which are paving the way for new industries and jobs. Collaborations between research, start-ups, and industry are the key to transforming inventions into innovations and securing Germany’s sustainability.
