Sofie Ehrhardt studied psychology at Saarland University with a focus on work and organizational psychology. From 2019 to 2025, she completed her PhD at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) at the Institute of Human and Industrial Engineering, researching communication between drivers and automated vehicles at motorway slip roads.

Since 2025, she has been working as a Senior Researcher in the Intelligent Systems and Production Engineering department at FZI, where she is establishing the "Human Factors Engineering" research area. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on human-technology interaction in the mobility domain, particularly on user-centered design and the acceptance of automated systems.
