Universal Robots ROS Driver
The FZI develops ROS driver for Universal Robots
Start: 08/2020
End: 05/2024
The diffusion of demand-response (DR) programs in Europe is advancing slowly but steadily. The Delfine project addresses this problem by following an interdisciplinary approach and develops a solution for the participation of industrial end-users in both price and incentive-based DR programs. The goal is to determine the impact of such programs on grid and electricity cost trends in the manufacturing industry. Supported by Stadtwerke Trier as grid-operating company and a multidisciplinary consortium, this project aims to find a technical solution that can be applied in different areas.
From the automated forecasting of energy generation and demand to the dynamic design of electricity prices and the energy-efficient as well as intelligent use of production resources, an end-to-end data exchange solution based on the concept of a semantic middleware is being developed. The holistic view on addressed issues facilitates developing business plans in which the project’s results are used by electricity providers, aggregators and the manufacturing industry and sustainably exploited well beyond the project’s duration. A public working group serves as a platform for discussing the project’s progress regularly.
In this venture, the FZI focuses on forecasting energy consumption from industrial resources and the subsequent optimization of production plans regarding energy costs. This way, energy flexibility is to be realized in industrial environments.
The research focus Climate Action Innovation aims to actively promote climate protection and create sustainable solutions in energy, mobility, production, and supply and disposal via IT innovations. Security aspects of the solutions are considered from the very onset.
