Research Focus: Intelligent Transportation Systems and Logistics

The FZI presents innovations at the leading mobility conference in Europe

On November 27 and 28, 2024, the Annual POLIS Conference will open its doors at the Messe Karlsruhe. As a leading European platform for sustainable urban mobility, the conference offers cities, regions, and experts from science, business, and public administration the opportunity to present innovative transport concepts and future-oriented technologies.

The FZI, as a partner of the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion (TRK) and thus of the Karlsruhe Mobility Lab, shares booth 35 with key players of the Karlsruhe Mobility Region. The FZI will show two highlights that make the future of autonomous driving and connected mobility concepts tangible.

Automated FZI-Shuttles at the trade fair

The FZI will be demonstrating the possibilities of autonomous driving live. Real and simulated scenarios merge seamlessly thanks to a virtual environment: the automated FZI-Shuttles commute between two intelligent stops, demonstrate the switch between virtual and real journey, and illustrate how automation and networking concepts can revolutionize local public transport.

Tour of the Test Area Autonomous Driving Baden-Württemberg

As part of a guided tour across the KIT Campus Ost, participants can experience research in the real-world laboratory of the Test Area Autonomous Driving Baden-Württemberg (TAF BW). This unique infrastructure offers insights into the testing and development of autonomous and connected mobility solutions – a central building block for the mobility transition.
